Who Was William A. Spencer
Will, affectionately known, was an indispensable figure in Phillipsburg and surrounding New Jersey communities for over twenty years, serving the Lopatcong Police Department with dedication and compassion during this period – as well as being valued members of both Phillipsburg’s fire departments as well as Seaside Heights’. His dedication was acknowledged with several honors from these bodies during this timeframe.
Will’s devotion to service extended even into emergency medical services, where he worked as an EMT for both Phillipsburg emergency squad and Triboro Rescue in Seaside. Will was also dedicated to improving community welfare as both mayor and councilman of Greenwich Township New Jersey where his focus was improving lives through meaningful service for his constituents with genuine desire to make an impactful difference in peoples lives.
Will was known for both his public service and successful entrepreneurial work. As the owner of Spencer Lawn Care and Warren Septic Services, his work ethic and entrepreneurialism inspired many. Yet even with all his demands on time and resources, Will always made time to be an active volunteer – giving back through organizations such as Garnet Booster Club, Harmony Lions Club and Lopatcong Youth Sports.

William was deeply passionate about football. As evidenced by his participation on ESPN’s first ever nationally broadcast high school game and continued passion at Kutztown University. These experiences played an essential role in molding his character as well as shaping his approach to life – an approach built upon teamwork, resilience and determination.
Will Spencer was an outstanding husband to Tracy and an affectionate father to Emma and Sophie; his family life reflected his deep-seated values. Will is survived by brothers Jarrod and Travis Spencer as well as parents Bill & Rose Marie Spencer who can take comfort knowing his journey was one filled with love, service, and an ongoing dedication towards others.
Will Spencer was known for his unwavering commitment to supporting his community and those who serve it. His legacy lives on in our hearts and memories – an inspiring testament of one individual making an enormous impactful statement with their life of service, compassion and leadership. His story serves as an inspirational lesson on what one individual can accomplish through being part of it all.
