Westminster Academy baseball coach Rich Hofman earned his 800th victory Thursday as the Lions defeated Sarasota 4-1.

Hofman, the winningest coach in Florida history, spent 30 seasons at Miami’s Westminster Christian before taking over the program at Westminster Academy.

“It has been a great run, and I have been fortunate to have so many talented coaches and players,” Hofman said.

Hofman has won 10 state titles, including two at Westminster Academy. He won two national championships in 1996 and 1992 while at Westminster Christian.
