With the 2017 Midseason Update now in effect, players are trying to get their heads around the major changes to the items in League of Legends.
One of the updates involved Banshee's Veil, previously a defensive item for tanks which has now been adjusted to be an item for mid laners and offensive supports.
While the item retains its previous passive of blocking the next enemy ability after a cooldown of 40 seconds, its stats have been overhauled to provide mage stats instead of tank values.
The idea of these changes was to encourage carries to buy the item to avoid being picked off at the start of fights.
With more carries picking up the item, players are looking for workarounds to activate the item without wasting any initiation abilities.
Self-proclaimed Thresh main YouTuber mylesislovely became tired of having his Death Sentence denied by the item and so he created a video showcasing the best ways to circumvent the spell shield.
In the video, he shows how the shield can be triggered without even being near the player, using two examples. Twisted Fate's global ultimate Destiny, which reveals every enemy on the map for a short period of time, will put the item on cooldown without even being near the player.
Similarly, the support item Redemption will take the shield down when used on an enemy, however, the item will block the damage.
