My sister scored a “friends and family” pass to Saturday’s “soft open” of the new Ikea in Sunrise and took me with her. The last time I was in an Ikea I was buying baby furniture and nursing my son in the company restaurant!

I wanted to see how many calories I could burn walking pretty much every square inch of the place, and my Bodybugg would tell me. So from 10:30 a.m. when we got there to 1:30 p.m. when we left I burned 661 calories.

So what else can make this a Skinny post? The restaurant choices. I had an open-faced shrimp and hard-boiled egg sandwich (a mere $3.75, at right in a blurry camera phone shot), which would have been fabulously healthy if not for the dollop of mayonnaise. My sister opted for the gravlax plate (only 5 bucks!), which consisted of a good amount of salmon with mixed greens and a yummy dill-mustard dressing that tasted like it might not be low fat.

There’s also turkey wraps, a salad bar and the always tasty lingonberry juice.

Here’s a picture of me finishing my sister’s lettuce (every leaf is sacred).

(Wow … there’s some sort of healthy-eating halo around my head … freaky …)
