Pittsburgh (WJAC) — Pittsburgh Steelers veteran defensive lineman Cameron Heyward returned to practice on Wednesday, six weeks after he underwent surgery to repair his hamstring.

The 34-year-old has been sidelined since exiting the Steelers' Week 1 contest against the San Francisco 49ers.

Pittsburgh says Heyward remains on the Injured Reserve list and the team has 21 days to reactivate him to the 53-man roster.

It is unclear if Heyward will return to the active roster prior to Pittsburgh's matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Kickoff for Sunday's game is scheduled for 1 p.m.
