As the child of two engineering-focused companies, the 45mm timepiece boasts racing design codes, from the visual aspect to the mechanics.
A watch’s calibre is what an engine is like for a racing car, and the newest Excalibur boasts a new one. The new RD630 movement, which is also the second calibre that the brand developed as part of its partnership with Lamborghini, comes with a 12 degree angle balance escapement. The automatic movement, which offers 60 hours of power reserve, comes housed inside a skeletonised Excalibur Spider case. It also features a strut-bar designed bridge, which evokes the look and feel of a Lamborghini Huracán supercar’s V10 engine.
The timepiece also borrows the hexagon as an integral part of its design, and it makes sense, considering that hexagonal shapes can also be found throughout Lamborghinis.
Other design codes include a crown shaped like a racing nut on supercar wheels. Flip the timepiece and you’ll see a circular weight designed to mimic the look of a Huracán’s wheel rims.
The timepiece comes dressed in a steel grey called “technical titan grey”, and is complemented by yellow accents. An Alcantara strap finished off with a ruby inlay featuring the Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tyre pattern design finishes the piece with a flourish.
