Hundreds of eyeglasses peer at the customers who walk into Wizard of Eyes.
The mom-and-pop shop provides eye exams for glasses and contact lenses, and sells and repairs eyeglass frames. The shop accepts most insurance plans and suggests that customers call to find out if their plan is accepted. While the boutique has its own eye doctors, it fills prescriptions from outside doctors.
The store sells designer brands such as Fendi, Guess, Valentino, Cazal and Oakley. It also sells sunglasses, sport frames and accessories, such as cases and chains.
The owners are Chuck and Marci Anzalone, who handle the prescription lenses and billing, respectively, and optometrist Dr. Marc Flesher. Dr. Peter Siedman is the full-time optometrist on staff; Flesher works part-time there.
“We have frames for men and women, young and old, funky and conservative,” Marci Anzalone said. “We’re full service.”
The showroom, where the frames are showcased, has wood accents. The back of the shop houses exam rooms and a full-service lab, so most prescription lenses can be prepared within an hour, Anzalone said.
Customers who are busy during the week can make evening appointments and even Saturday appointments upon request.
Wizard of Eyes carries a range of eyeglasses, from designer frames to budget ones, in styles for different ages. Packages begin at $89 for frames and single-vision lenses. Frames and progressive lenses start at $169.
Eye exams begin at $59, and contact lens exams are $89 or $109, depending on the type of lens.
Contact lenses vary in price depending on the brand and type.
