Northridge Mall Shooting – There were reports of gunshots being heard in the neighborhood surrounding Northridge Fashion Center beginning on Friday evening. As a direct consequence of this, six juveniles were taken into custody for a time period that was relatively short. On the other side, the police have indicated that there were no injuries that were reported and that there were no arrests made following the incident.
At approximately six o’clock in the evening, Captain Kelly Muniz of the Los Angeles Police Department stated that there was a report of a shooting that took place outside of the shopping center, in close proximity to the nearby AMC Theater. Furthermore, she stated that the shooting was reported to have taken place. Following the detention of six young individuals who were attempting to flee the scene, the police eventually released them because none of them were in possession of a weapon or had any injuries that were visible to the naked eye.
It has been stated by Muniz that shell casings have been found and removed from the area. A glass window at a sushi restaurant that is located in close proximity to the theater was reportedly damaged in an accident, as reported by a number of different media stations. The shooting took occurred on Black Friday, which is widely regarded as one of the most important days of the year for retail purchasing shopping. Black Friday is also the day that the shooting took place. In spite of the fact that the large crowds that used to congregate on shopping malls have shrunk in recent years due to the rise of e-commerce and the extension of discounts across the weekend by the majority of stores, this is the situation that has arisen.
