Got itPrior to the solar eclipse on August 21, 2017, students will participate in lessons to understand how a solar eclipse occurs as well as lessons about the sun and moon in general. On the morning of the eclipse, each student will make UV bracelets using chenille sticks and uv beads which change colors when exposed to ultraviolet light from the sun. "Block" party! Wearing special glasses, all students will go out at 11:57 a.m. to view the beginning of the eclipse. They will go out again from 1:20 until 1:40 to view the maximum eclipse. Students will go back out prior to the ending at 2:57 p.m.
