Marques Johnson is a former NBA professional basketball player and analyst from the United States. He currently works with Bally Sports Wisconsin as a basketball analyst for the Milwaukee Bucks. From 1977 through 1989, he was a basketball player with the Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers, and Fantoni Udine. He also finished his career with 13,892 points, 4817 rebounds, and 2502 stats.

Marques eventually enrolled at UCLA, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts. During his time there, he was an All-American on the basketball teams of Coach John Wooden and Coach Gene Bartow.

In his senior year, he received the inaugural John R. Wooden Award and was named USBWA College Player of the Year as the nation’s best collegiate basketball player.

The Milwaukee Bucks selected him third overall in the 1977 NBA draft. He was a member of the team from 1977 to 1984 and was named to the NBA All-Rookie Team in 1978. In addition, he was named to the All-NBA First Team after appearing in the 1979 NBA All-Star Game. Milwaukee won several division titles under Marques.

Furthermore, in the 1984 summer, he was moved to the Los Angeles Clippers, where he remained until 1987. During the 1986 and 1987 seasons, Marques had a neck injury that effectively ended his career. In addition, he played 10 games for the Golden State Warriors before retiring on December 27, 1989.

After retiring, he entered the entertainment industry, appearing in films such as Love and Action in Chicago, Blue Chips, Forget Paris, and White Men Can not Jump. Marques eventually joined KFWB-AM in Los Angeles as a Clippers early morning show co-host.

He currently works with Bally Sports Wisconsin as a basketball analyst for the Milwaukee Bucks. He previously worked as a basketball analyst for Fox Sports and Fox Sports 1. He worked as a color analyst for the Seattle SuperSonics in the late 1990s.
