In the new League of Legends loot system, it allows players to take three skin shards and re-roll them into a random permanent skin. That is the way the system is supposed to work, according to one League of Legnds forum poster, the odds of getting a more expensive skin are quite low.

One very dedicated LoL boards poster named CleverCactus decided to do some digging on a rumor about the skin re-roll system. He took to the PBE and used the free RP you get there to get a bunch of skin shards. He then re-rolled all of them and recorded the RP price from the skins he received and noticed that he rarely got a skin worth more than 975.

This experiment drew the attention of Riot as a staff member named Riot Cactopus replied and said that the skins were indeed weighted. The reasoning behind this is because early on when the loot system was brand new people only re-rolled skins of low value.

He went on to say that he spoke with the loot developers and the weighting has been removed.

When a new tool like the loot system hits a game there will always be some issues with it. It is good to know that there are some eagle eyed players out there who can help Riot spot some of these bugs.

Now that this issue has been fixed the odds of getting a more expensive skin should ever be in your favor.
