KOMPAS.com -Aisyah adalah putri dari sahabat Nabi Muhammad, Abu Bakar Ash-Shiddiq.
Aisyah merupakan istri termuda Rasulullah yang dinikahi saat usianya belum genap sepuluh tahun.
Meski hanya mendampingi Nabi Muhammad selama sekitar sepuluh tahun, Aisyah disebut sebagai salah satu perempuan paling utama di kalangan perempuan Islam, bersama Khadijah dan Fatimah Az Zahra.
Aisyah dikenal sebagai perempuan cerdas dan berpengetahuan luas, yang menjadi tempat bertanya umat Islam sepeninggal Rasulullah pada tahun 632.
Setelah menjalani kehidupan agung, Aisyah meninggal di bulan suci Ramadan.
Aisyah dimakamkan pada malam itu pula di Baqi, sebuah kompleks pemakaman di Madinah yang tidak jauh dari Masjid Nabawi.
Dalam sahih Bukhari, diriwayatkan bahwa Aisyah telah berwasiat kepada Abdullah bin Zubair, putra kakaknya, agar dimakamkan di Baqi bersama istri-istri Rasulullah lainnya.
Abdullah bin Zubair pula yang turun ke liang lahat dan memakamkan Aisyah, bersama Urwah bin Zubair, Qosim, Abdullah bin Muhammad, dan Abdullah bin Abdurrahman.
Orang-orang yang mengantarkan kepergian Aisyah ke peristirahatan terakhirnya pun sangat banyak.
Bahkan sejumlah literatur menyebutkan, tidak pernah ada kerumunan sebanyak itu dalam sebuah malam.
Tidak sedikit yang datang dari jauh untuk mendatangi pemakaman sang sumber ilmu paling penting dalam sejarah Islam dan seorang yang begitu dikasihi Rasulullah.
