Toho Animation has revealed that the Shibuya Incident Arc will be included in Season 2 of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime. The announcement was made during Toho Animation's 10-year anniversary live broadcast, which starred Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kugisaki as voice performers.

Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen will be released in two back-to-back cours beginning in 2023. In anime, a “cour” typically includes around 14 episodes. The term is often used interchangeably with “season”.

The second season will contain two important arcs from the original manga series, following the release of the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 film. The Gojo's Past Arc, commonly known as the Star Plasma Vessel Arc, will follow Satoru Gojo and his classmates over a decade before the events of the first season. The Shibuya Incident Arc will begin following the events of the first season.

A new teaser visual featuring Gojo, Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara riding a train was released. The abandoned train has seemingly arrived at Shibuya station, according to the image. Notably, the new teaser image complements an earlier teaser image for the Star Plasma Vessel Arc. When the two teasers are combined, they form an image of current Satoru Gojo and past Suguru Geto poised to shake hands. The mentioned key visual can be seen here.

Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen will be split into two parts, similar to the first season of Spy x Family. Toho Animation confirmed that the two cours will air concurrently. This most likely means that there will be little to no downtime between the two cours. For comparison, the previous season had a total of 24 episodes.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will go live sometime in 2023.
