JCPenney is having a hiring event Oct. 16 to fill 2,500 seasonal jobs in Florida, including 700 in South Florida.
Management will be doing interviews and making on-the-spot job offers during the event, which is set for 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at stores. Positions include customer service, cashiers, replacement specialists, and beauty consultants for Sephora shops inside JCPenney stores.
JCPenney said it offers seasonal employees flexible work scheduling and discounts of up to 25 percent on purchases.
During this holiday season, the retailer also will offer rewards packages to eight employees whose names will be randomly drawn. Awards include $5,000-value trips (with paid lodging, airfare and entertainment) to Banff, Alberta, Canada; New York City; and Miami.
Five other winners will receive a prize package worth $5,000 with themes that include: smart home, outdoor, technology and glamour. All employees that remain with JCPenney through Dec. 29 are eligible to win, the company said.
Those interested in the seasonal jobs should apply before Oct. 16, either online at jcpcareers.com, or at an applicant kiosk inside stores. There are 11 stores in South Florida.
