Free sensory-friendly film series to return to SteelStacks this summer

This summer, everyone can enjoy the movies.

ArtsQuest’s free sensory-friendly kids film series will kick off June 6 in the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinema at SteelStacks.

The series, which will run at 1:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Aug. 22, is designed specifically for those on the spectrum. The accommodations include:

* Talking and walking around are permitted, while stimming (self-regulation behavior) is encouraged.

* The theater’s house lights are dimmed but remain on, while the film volume is lowered and previews are eliminated.

* Families with special dietary needs will be allowed to bring food from home.

* Tangled — June 6

* Lilo & Stitch — June 13

* Minions — June 20

* Paddington — June 27

* The Lego Ninjago Movie — July 11

* Monsters Inc.— July 18

* Inside Out — July 25

* Toy Story 3 — Aug. 1

* Cars — Aug. 15

* Coco — Aug. 22
