Dana Tyler is a preeminent American journalist currently working as a reporter and anchor for CBS2 News in New York. She officially joined CBS News back in 1990 as a co-anchor and reporter. As of now, she anchors the station’s news at 6 p.m.

Prior to joining CBS News, she worked at WBNS-TV and WCOL Radio in Columbus, Ohio where she started her career as an intern. Later, she worked as a general assignment reporter and anchor for WBNS and earned an award as an incredible Anchor.

She has also won an Emmy for her work on the show and, in 1986, she became a co-anchor of the station’s evening newscasts. She also moved to New York, and, to WCBS-TV as a weekend anchor and reporter in June 1990.

In 1993, she airs at 5:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. newscasts. At WCBS-TV, Dana has also worked alongside other well-known television news anchors in New York City including Brian Williams, Jim Jensen, John Johnson, Ernie Anastos, Ira Joe Fisher, Michele Marsh, and Roz Abrams.

In addition, she has also worked alongside, Don Dahler, Chris Wragge, and Stephen Clark. Tyler remained in her post through a major staff reduction in November 1996 when several of the station’s on-air personalities, including Harris, Marsh, and Johnson were fired.

She replaced Roz Abrams, a veteran WABC-TV anchor, who had replaced her a few years ago only to be replaced again by Kristine Johnson in 2007. In July 2020, Tyler celebrated 30 years at WCBS-TV.
