Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every school year the students of the Great State of Texas have to take an administered STAAR Test. Students’ main goal from year to year is to show growth. Other goals include landing in a certain range of points to be labeled a "Master" of content, passing the state standard called "approaching", and being able to comprehend concepts in real world situations.

To better prepare for our STAAR test, students can use Countdown to STAAR to practice every grade level concept and show what they know.

While there are many warm ups/practices out there. I have found the most success with Countdown to STAAR. This program was used as I taught 4th and 5th grade and showed lots of positive results from my students. I'm hoping to see the same outcomes with my amazing 6th graders.

This resource will be used during our STAAR Bootcamp. Just a few weeks prior to STAAR, my students and I will tackle one

to three standards a day reviewing and correcting any remaining misconceptions. After our bootcamp, I hope to find my current students like those of the past-ready for their exam and feeling prepared!
