Wisconsin football coach Barry Alvarez’s son faces criminal charges for breaking into a fraternity brother’s room and microwaving a parrot to death.
Police have recommended charging Chad Alvarez, a senior at Wisconsin, with burglary and mistreating an animal.
Chad Alvarez, 23, was arrested Friday after turning himself in.
He is expected to be arraigned Monday.
If charged and convicted on both counts, Alvarez faces a maximum fine of $20,000 and 12-year jail sentence.
