League of Legends champion Cho'Gath has a new set of animations on the game's Public Beta Environment that should enter the game in League of Legends Patch 8.3.
Cho'gath is the first champion of many that will receive partial updates this year, as pointed out by Riot Games' lead gameplay designer Andrei "Meddler" Van Roon in a dev corner post Jan. 16. Meddler explained in the post that the Riot development team plans on spending the next year updating champions who aren't up to standard.
Quick Gameplay thoughts is notorious for bringing developer insight for the changes that are very close to being released.
On the Surrenderat20 PBE 8.3 round up, where you can also see the swain update, does a great job at highlighting the entire visual effects update. The roundup features changes to his:
-
Rupture (Q) where the ability now has a more high quality look while also matching Cho'gath's base skin much better. Feral Scream (W) where feral scream is no longer a light blue but instead a pinkish purple color. Vorpal Spikes (E) where his spikes that come out are a more dark purple. - Feast (R) where his ultimate now causes his target to flash a pink light before being eaten.
Good news everyone! Server maintenance for our next patch, Patch 8.3, has been scheduled for the early morning hours of February 7th!

With these changes, Cho'gath's abilities will definitely stand out much better now in a team fight. Because of the clarity, the update should be a good quality of life change for players trying to visualize Cho'gath's abilities better.
