It won’t be a pirate’s life in Boynton Beach this fall.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency has canceled the ninth annual Boynton Beach Haunted Pirate Fest and Mermaid Splash.

The highly-anticipated Halloween festival, which was scheduled for Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, annually draws over 50,000 people to East Ocean Avenue with dozens of attractions and vendors.

With the CDC and the Florida Department of Health regulations prohibiting large gatherings of people, the CRA decided to cancel the event to protect the safety and health of residents.

Updates will be given on the Boynton Beach Haunted Pirate Fest & Mermaid Splash website for next year’s event.
