Personal Life : Parents, Family and Education
- A Connecticut native, Alyssa is the granddaughter of the late parishioner of St. Lucy’s Church, Judith Taglia.
- She attended Cheshire High School from 2007 to 2011.
- An early graduate from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA, she also attended the New York Film Academy’s Broadcast Journalism certificate program on a full scholarship in 2017.

Contribution & Volunteering :
- At just the tender age of 12, Alyssa had already made it her life’s top priority to give back and volunteer her time to many charitable organizations.
- She founded & is also the director of “Smiles for Seniors,” a volunteer-driven program focused on enriching the lives of the elderly, specifically those in long-term care facilities.
- Her mother played a huge role in shaping this vision, as Alyssa got inspired after spending time with the elderly in a residential care home, where her mother was a director.
- She is also an ambassador for Children’s Miracle Network, working closely with school systems; her goal is to bridge the gap between America’s youth and the elderly.
- Alyssa is an extremely kind and charitable woman, and while she serves on the board of Directors for SELF INC, she is also a member of the Miss America State Titleholders Association (MASTA).

- From 2011 – 2014, Taglia worked in the Human Resource Department as an Office Assistant at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

- At Cintas Corporation, Alyssa was a Market Development Representative/Sales Representative for over a year.

Winning Miss Connecticut :
- A determined beautiful woman, Taglia was the first runner-up in the Miss Connecticut 2013 competition and placed second runner-up in 2014.
- This did not end her resolve though, and after taking a year off to “refocus herself,” she returned with a bang, and was crowned Miss Connecticut 2016 at the Mohegan Sun Casino & Resort, after seeing off sixteen other competitors.
- She received a $10,000 scholarship for winning the title, a total of $350 for her fitness awards, as well as a prize package worth more than $10,000 additionally.
- Also, winning the competition ensured she qualified for the next edition of Miss America, although she did not win this time.

- Alyssa once said that a defining moment in her life was when she was documented in the Lincoln Center for Performing Arts Library Dance Vault for her performance of Martha Graham’s respected piece, “Heretic.”
- When she’s not working or volunteering, she loves spending time with her family and friends.
- She also loves listening to artists like Sam Smith, The Fray, and John Mayer.
