Welcome to The_Merrill!

Its no secret Riot Games absolutely loves April Fools day, and this year Riot hijacked the r/leagueoflegends subreddit, and replaced it with The_Merrill, a page dedicated to celebrating Riot Games Co-Founder Marc Merrill. Here are some of the best posts by Reddit users as a result.

9. #MarcLeagueGreatAgain

In a tale of wit and brevity, this post by user SimplifyEUW makes an introduction to the Reddit takeover with a feud between Marc and Valve founder Gabe Newell. In a parody of Donald Trump, this post set the tone for The_Merrill takeover.

8. Fake Moba

The beef between Valve and Riot didn't stop there, as reddit users attempted to cause a picture of the Dota 2 logo to appear when people search google for "Fake Moba." This asks the question, though, who googles "Fake Moba?"

7. League of Legends: Dunkey Returns

Don't watch the video if you don't want to be disappointed. Dunkey quit making YouTube videos about League of Legends in 2015. After teasing his return many times, Dunkey released another video today trolling his fans who want more League content.

6. Marc Merrill Promises to Unban Tyler1

It probably wont happen, but in his AMA today, Marc Merrill promised to unban Tyler1 if they were able to get to the front page of Reddit. Tyler1 is a popular streamer who is notorious for being banned for repetitive toxic behavior.

5. Love Me Some Regi

Poking fun at the backfired statement put out by Marc Merrill in August of 2016, the "Love Me Some Regi"  post is sure to reopen some freshly healed wounds for Merrill. Let's be fair though, we all love ourselves some Regi.

4. The Best Possible News on URF Day

Less of a joke, and more of a happy coincidence, this post links to a CNN article titled "It's Official: Manatee no Longer Listed as Endangered Species." Indeed the best new for the day celebrating Riot's teased champion, Urf the manatee.

3. Advanced Bots Test Live in Normals

For any hardcore fan hellbent on collecting all the summoner icons, the promise of an exclusive icon for getting placed in a randomly selected game full of intelligent bots might cause players to queue in normals all day unknowing that it's April Fools Day. WP Riot.

2. The Return of Dyrus

Despite what many of his fans would like, Dyrus isn't coming back to competitive play after leaving TSM in 2015. I like to imagine the wide eyes of the hardcore Dyrus fan who see this headline only to realize its a joke.

1. Patch 7.7 Notes

Apr. 1 patch notes are always hilarious, and these are not an exception. From solving geometry as Vel'Koz to having to buy extra shoes for Hecarim, these patch notes do not disappoint.

With Apr. 1 still in full swing, I'm sure we'll be seeing plenty more posts before the day's end.
