The University of Miami announced the hirings of a new strength coach and head athletic trainer Wednesday.

Dana LeDuc takes over the strength program after 16 years in that position at the University of Texas. LeDuc is a former six-time track and field All- American (indoors and outdoors) and 1976 national champion in the shot put for the Longhorns.

At Miami, LeDuc replaces Brad Roll, who left to become strength coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“Dana built the Texas program and is considered to be one of the top strength coaches in the country,” said UM football coach Dennis Erickson.

UM’s new head athletic trainer is Todd Toriscelli, who spent the past three years at Kansas State University. He replaces Andy Clary.
