Ricky Bottalico is a previous baseball player and relief pitcher who played in MLB. In 1994, he went to the Philadelphia Phillies and on July 29, 1994, held his first Major League debut with the Phillies, at Atlanta–Fulton County Stadium against the Atlanta Braves. Furthermore, in the 1996 Major League Baseball All-Star Game he pitched a scoreless inning.

He also played in 1998 at St. Louis Cardinals, Milwaukee Brewers in 2005, Arizona Diamondbacks in 2003, New York Mets in 2004, and Kansas City Royals in 2000. He spent most of his career as a closer and dwindled to a total of five in his last five seasons.

Together with Barry Bonds were both ejected from the game by home plate umpire Jeff Nelson on August 2, 1998. This occurred in a game against the San Francisco Giants, Ricky hit Barry Bonds with a pitch to pitch for the Phillies. In 1998 he was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals along with Garrett Stephenson, after suffering an elbow injury and clashing with manager Terry Francona.

He was signed to a minor league and invited to spring training by the Baltimore Orioles but did not make it to the team in 2006. Then he retired in 2005 with 160 save opportunities and 301 games finished.
