Why you’re running for this office: After years of public service in New Jersey and getting involved by attending many LHP commission and board meetings, I feel I have enough knowledge to make a positive effect for residents of this wonderful city.
Describe your city and/or your district as you would to someone who has never visited.
The city is a hidden jewel in Broward County. We have our own public safety network which includes police, fire and EMS; we have a recreation program that serves the needs of all ages; we have our own public library with many programs for all residents outside of just books; we offer many waterfront properties, condo living, a yacht club and marina.
What are the top three issues facing your city or district? The need for a strategic plan and goals for updating our infrastructure, including bridges, dredging, seawalls, roads, and drainage; improving the efficiency of our building department through communication and technology; continuing to be vigilant with public safety and security of the city.
How would you assess the performance of city government? What grade would you give city government and why? City government functions well for residents, but as with everything else, there are ways to improve. Technology is changing the way things are done and we should embrace changes to make our city more efficient and save taxpayer dollars.
Is there anything you want us to know about your opponents? No
Is there anything that we didn’t ask about that you would like to raise? No answer
Is there anything about yourself that we didn’t ask about that would embarrass you if an opponent found out? No
Why should voters vote for you? Electing Everett Marshall III to the City Commission will give residents a strong, experienced voice in city government. Being a retired businessman, I will have the time to devote to the job of commissioner.
How much money have you raised? Reports are posted on city website
