Nicholas Hoult Family

Nicholas Caradoc Hoult was born in Wokingham, Berkshire, on December 7, 1989, to Glenis (née Brown), a piano teacher, and Roger Hoult, a commercial pilot. Caradoc (pronounced /) is a Welsh name that translates as “The Beloved One.”[5] Dame Anna Neagle, a theater and cinema actress active in the 1930s and 1940s, was his paternal great-aunt. He has three siblings: an older brother who is a biology student in the United States, and two sisters, both of whom are actresses.

Hoult spent the majority of his boyhood at Sindlesham, an estate community in the borough of Wokingham. His older brothers and sisters were always engaged in acting and dancing, taking classes, and attending auditions. As a child, he began joining them and developed an interest in performing. In a 2011 interview with The Guardian, he described his childhood and connection with his brothers, saying, “[we were] pretty outdoorsy normal kids running around in the garden and making tree houses… it was very normal.”

During Hoult’s childhood, his father was frequently away from home working, while his brother was away at school. As a result, he spent the majority of his time with his mother and sisters; he believes that being raised by women helped him “avoid some pitfalls that guys who did not grow up with women would fall into.”

Nicholas Hoult Wife

Hoult lives in both London and Los Angeles. Bryana Holly, an American model, is his wife. They have two children: a son and a girl.

Nicholas Hoult Career

A theatre director recognized Hoult’s acting talent when he was three years old, during a performance of a play starring Hoult’s brother. The director was impressed with Hoult’s ability to “concentrate well” and cast him in his next stage play, The Caucasian Chalk Circle. Hoult began attending auditions at the age of five and was cast in his first feature picture, Intimate Relations, in 1996.

He also appeared in other television shows, including Casualty, Silent Witness, The Bill, Judge John Deed, and Doctors. Acting was first viewed as a hobby rather than a vocation by Hoult, who stated in a March 2009 interview with The Daily Telegraph that he was not “in love with it… I just enjoyed it.” It was like being on football team. It was fantastic when you got a part. As well as meeting new individuals. “It was a thrilling new world.”

At the age of eleven, Hoult appeared in Chris and Paul Weitz’s 2002 comedy-drama film About a Boy. He was initially hesitant to audition for the job because the casting procedure was time-consuming and conflicted with his studies. Despite this, he opted to audition and was subsequently cast in the role of Marcus, a “woolly-hatted, oddball son of a suicidal, hippy-ish single mother, [who] gets bullied horribly at school.”

About a Boy was a commercial success, generating over $130 million worldwide and receiving critical acclaim. His portrayal of a lonely schoolboy was favorably received; The Daily Telegraph’s David Thomas ascribed the film’s popularity and success to Hoult’s acting. By the time the film was released, Hoult had graduated from Arborfield Junior School and enrolled in Sylvia Young Theatre School in London. He described the transition as tough; his time there was limited, and he preferred to attend a regular school. He still did not want to be an actor, and at the age of 14, he transferred from Sylvia Young Theatre School to Ranelagh School.
