Dolphins (3-0) at Bills (2-1), Sunday, 1 p.m., CBS

Latest line: Bills are favored by 2 1/2 points

Dave Hyde, Sports Columnist (Season record 2-1): Dolphins 26, Bills 23

It’s like the 1990s again with a Dolphins-Bills game mattering. The Dolphins have the league’s best offense through three games. The Bills’ defense has given up just two touchdowns. After watching a 70-point game by the Dolphins, I feel like I’m respecting the Bills by saying this offense will only score 26.

Chris Perkins, Dolphins Columnist (Season record 2-1): Dolphins 27, Bills 24

It’s simple: I’m not picking against this team until it loses. They’re playing that well. I don’t care about the opponent or location. The Dolphins are playing so well that I need to see someone beat them at this point of the season to believe someone can beat them at this point of the season.

David Furones, Dolphins Writer (Season record 3-0): Dolphins 31, Bills 30

Although the Bills won their two home games against the Dolphins last year, it actually felt like Miami kind of had Buffalo’s number. One frigid game in the snow when the Dolphins were at their worst last year required a last-second field goal. A playoff game with third-string quarterback Skylar Thompson starting saw the Dolphins with a fourth-quarter lead. An early-season visit to Orchard Park means better weather, and the Dolphins are much better this season in a second year of Mike McDaniel’s offense and with Vic Fangio improving the defense. Both teams come in hot, but Tua Tagovailoa leads a late scoring drive, and Josh Allen finishes by turning the ball over.

Kathy Laughlin, Sports Editor (Season record 2-1): Dolphins 34, Bills 30

Buffalo is an excellent team — its one loss was in overtime on the road — and the Bills are at home, where the Dolphins have struggled. That said, how do you pick against a team that just scored 70 points? You don’t. But this will not be a repeat of last week. The Bills are not the Broncos.

Keven Lerner, Assistant Sports Editor (Season record 2-1): Bills 27, Dolphins 23

While the Dolphins are coming off an improbable 70-20 thrashing of Denver, the Bills have won their last two games by a combined score of 75-13. The high-flying Dolphins lead the NFL in points scored, total yards, yards rushing and passing. But the Bills’ defense is among the league’s best (even without injured star Von Miller), allowing just two touchdowns in three games. The Dolphins, who only scored seven points in the second half against the Patriots two weeks ago, have lost seven straight games at Buffalo and Tua Tagovailoa is 0-3 at Orchard Park.

Steve Svekis, Assistant Sports Editor (Season record 2-1): Dolphins 31, Bills 27

Yes, Buffalo won both games in Orchard Park last year, and Josh Allen has never lost to Miami at home in six games. However, the mystique was shattered last year with the Bills escaping twice in New York by three points in frigid weather, including in the wild-card playoff game. What jumped out most last year was the Dolphins forcing Allen into an unsightly 11 turnover-worthy plays in the teams’ three matchups, including eight fumbles, one of which was returned for a touchdown by Zach Sieler in the playoff game. Also, in December at Buffalo, Raheem Mostert flashed the Raheem Mostert we have seen in 2023, piling up 136 rushing yards on 17 runs, an eye-popping 8.0 yards per rush. That is some lethal offensive poison for a defensive coordinator to pick between.
