Call of Duty cancelled had all of the headlines this weekend as a report from Kotaku stated that things were awry at Activision regarding Call of Duty 2020.
The first-person shooter franchise follows a strict developer cycle of rotating between Treyarch, Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games every three years. The report from Kotaku stated that things were "a mess" for the 2020 entry being developed by SHG.

Call of Duty Cancelled: Kotaku Report States Treyarch Developing CoD 2020
"Next year's Call of Duty has gone through a major upheaval, as publisher Activision informed developers this week that studios Raven and Sledgehammer, which had until now led the project, will no longer be in charge. Instead, according to three people familiar with goings-on at the companies, Treyarch will lead development on a new Black Ops for 2020," Kotaku stated in its report.
Fans are still expecting to get Modern Warfare 4 this year for CoD 2019, but nothing has been directly confirmed or announced yet. With Call of Duty World League franchising on the way as well, this could impact the league moving forward.
