Specialty kitchenware retailer Sur La Table is expanding its South Florida presence with a new store opening in Aventura Mall this year.
The Seattle, Wash.-based retailer said the store is slated to open in November or December.
A mall representative said Thursday the 5,142-square-foot store will be next to Nordstrom on Level 1 in space currently occupied by retailer Intimacy, which will be relocating.
Sur La Table has stores in The Shops at Pembroke Gardens in Pembroke Pines, Coconut Creek’s Promenade at Coconut Creek and Downtown at the Gardens in Palm Beach Gardens, according to its website.
Sur La Table’s first store opened in Seattle in 1972 to sell kitchenware imported from France. Since then it has expanded its offerings to include exclusive and hard-to-find culinary ware from other parts of the world.
The company will open five more stores nationwide between September and December and has plans for more. It currently has 76 stores nationwide, many with cooking-class programs
