Mass Effect Legendary Edition arrived Friday, giving players another chance to experience BioWare's classic RPG trilogy. One of the series' hallmarks is its morality system, setting up the dueling archetypes of Paragon and Renegade for players to experience.
But say you want to max one out immediately? This exploit allows you to reach full Paragon or full Renegade instantly. Here's how to do it.
Mass Effect Paragon & Renegade Exploit
To start, you'll need at least five points in Charm for Paragon or Intimidate for Rengade, plus access to Lorik Qui'in on the planet of Noveria.
When you're getting your garage pass on Noveria, agree to carry out Lorik's mission. Recover the evidence from the computer in his office, then agree to talk to Gianna Parasini before you return the evidence to Lorik.
You'll find Gianna alone at a table in the hotel bar across from Lorik, near the stairs. Agree to her offer that you convince Lorik to testify, then talk to Lorik.
In the conversation with Lorik, you'll need to choose the following options:
- "Testify against Anoleis"
- Pick "You'd be a hero" for +25 Paragon Points, or "Damn right I will" for +25 Renegade Points
Once you've done that, finish the conversation and talk to Lorik again. This time, pick these options in this order:
- "Matriarch Benezia"
- "Another question"
- "Testify Against Anoleis"
- "You'd be a hero" for Paragon, "Damn right I will" for Renegade
You can repeat this process as many times as you like to max out your morality option of choice.
Maxing out your morality offers a few benefits:
- Unlocking all 12 Charm/Intimidate points for purchase in the Squad Menu, allowing you to choose any option in every decision in the game
- Unlocking both special Morality Missions, which are unlocked by reaching 80% or 90% in either morale standing. Paragons will unlock UNC: Besieged Base; Paragons get UNC: The Negotiation.
- When you import your Mass Effect 1 save into Mass Effect 2 with each morality bar 50% full, you'll get a head start on your Charm/Intimidate points
