The subreddit, Competitive Overwatch, recently announced that they would be hosting community awards for 2017. Depending on how the community responds and participates in the awards this year, they hope to make it an annual event.

With his unique talent in spotting rising stars, we will be honouring @INTERNETHULK by renaming our Breakthrough Player of the Year Community Award after him.

Among the categories listed is an award for "Breakthrough Player of the Year." The award is described to go to a player who is expected to excel in the year 2018. With the passing of Dennis "INTERNETHULK" Hawelka, the subreddit has announced that they would rename the award after him, because of his keen eye on spotting players who would make it big.

If you take a look at Twitter, many fans and players have paid their respects through sharing stories of him on Twitter or on his offline Twitch channel, or with artwork. The pain of his loss is being felt by the entire community across many different platforms. While the Community Awards will not be honored with a physical trophy of any kind, the gesture of naming an award after INTERNETHULK is incredibly touching.

While Overwatch as an esports will continue on, INTERNETHULK's name and memory will not be forgotten.
