Don’t get him wrong, linebacker Channing Crowder thinks Dan Carpenter is very good at what he does, and he’s glad that he’s on the Dolphins.
But?
“He’s just a Pro Bowl kicker. Now, he’s a great kicker, and I love to have the guy on my team. A 54-yarder, not too many people can do that, you know, with that pressure at the end of the half,” Crowder said.
“But he’s still a kicker. They still practice one day a week and sit in [the locker room] and read books and play with each other all meeting time, so, he’s still a kicker.”
All said with a smile and punctuated with Crowder’s bellowing laugh.
Carpenter has gone 13-for-13 in field goal attempts the past three games and has won the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week award twice in that span.
