Once upon a time, chef-owner Tim Boyd says he was filled with ego and hubris. But after a restaurant partnership with hockey player Valeri Bure and former child star Candace Cameron Bure failed last decade, Boyd says he found humility and faith.
In 2010, he and wife Lara opened a modest storefront restaurant in Plantation with quality bistro food. Mustard Seed has become a huge hit, popular with ladies who lunch and locals at dinner. Boyd prides himself on hiring workers who need second chances, and the restaurant is closed on Sundays, so staff can have a family day.
