Anders began her career in theatre in 2001 she was the understudy of Mary-Louise Parker in the Broadway production of Proof. She also played Elaine Robinson in The Graduate. Her first television appearance was a commercial for Danon that ran in the 1990s. Anders was noted for his role in Joey as the lawyer Alex Garrett and also in The Class as Nicole Allen who plays an ex-football player’s wife.
Anders has made many guest appearances on One Life to Live, Law & Order, Guiding Light, and Tru Calling. She has also appeared in five episodes of the HBO drama series Oz as Donna Degenhart in 2003. She co-starred in the tv series Mr. Sunshine alongside creator Matthew Perry.
Anders starred in two more unsuccessful pilots in 2015. In the first, Anders portrayed a stay-at-home mother and Briga Heelan’s best friend in the lead role of How We Live. The Half of It was the next, in which Anders played Jon Dore’s ex-wife. In 2016, she played the producer and inventor of a game show that Craig Ferguson’s character hosted in the sitcom Crunch Time’s unsuccessful pilot.
Anders worked on pilots for several unsuccessful series attempts in addition to his other ventures. She shot a supporting role in the fact-based TV movie Return to Zero in 2012; the movie debuted on the Lifetime Network in 2014. In the one-season comedy programs About a Boy and Modern Family, she played recurring roles. In the latter, she played the annoying new neighbor of the Dunphy family. She played the lead role in the 2016 comedy film Is That a Gun in Your Pocket?, which followed a group of women in a tiny Texas town who refused to have sex until their boyfriends gave up their firearms.
