JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Aktris senior Korea Selatan, Kang Soo Yeon meninggal dunia, Sabtu (6/5/2022) sore.
Kang Soo Yeon sempat tidak sadarkan diri selama tiga hari sebelumnya setelah mengalami henti jantung.
Ia menerima perawatan di rumah sakit setelah ditemukan dalam tidak sadar di rumahnya di Apgujeong, Seoul, karena alami serangan jantung.
Dilansir dari Koreaboo, Sabtu (7/5/2022), Kang Soo Yeon meninggal dalam usia 55 tahun.
Rekan-rekannya di industri film, yang dipimpin oleh mantan ketua Busan International Film Festival, Kim Dong Ho telah menyiapkan pemakamannya di Samsung Medical Center.
Kang Soo Yeon adalah salah satu aktris Korea yang paling dihormati.
Ia menjadi aktor Korea pertama yang memenangkan penghargaan di Festival Film Internasional Venesia pada tahun 1987 untuk perannya dalam The Surrogate Woman.
Penghargaan tersebut adalah yang pertama bagi seorang aktris Korea untuk menerima penghargaan dari festival film internasional besar.
Selain itu, Kang Soo Yeon juga mendapatkan penghargaan aktris terbaik dalam Festival Film Internasional Moskow pada 1989 lewat film Come, Come, Come Upward.
Baru-baru ini, Kang Soo Yeon telah kembali ke dunia film setelah sepuluh tahun lalu membintangi film fiksi ilmiah Jung_E.
